Given the seriousness of Venezuela’s humanitarian crisis, this workshop will address four main questions: What explains the country’s steep decline, from being one of Latin America’s richest countries, to its current economic and social collapse? What are the most feasible strategies to address the regional impact of Venezuela’s migration and humanitarian crisis? Is a change of regime foreseeable in the near future? Can this change be peaceful?  A parallel panel on these topics will take place the prior day at the Washington Office of the Keough School for Global Affairs.
