Marlyn Batista is a third-year student in the Master of Divinity program at the University of Notre Dame. She currently serves as an Assistant Rector in Cavanaugh Hall and is a course facilitator for the Camino Spanish-language theology courses at the McGrath Institute for Church Life. Before coming to Notre Dame Marlyn was a youth minister and a high school theology teacher. Additionally, Marlyn served as the coordinator of Outreach Ministries for St. Patrick's Church in Providence, where she oversaw the parish's meal kitchen and food pantry efforts. Since she began studying Romero's life at Notre Dame, his work has been instrumental in helping to shape her understanding of what it means to be the Church.
