Sasha Klyachkina is a postdoctoral fellow at University of Wisconsin-Madison's Center for Russia, East Europe, and Central Asia. Her research focuses on the politics of armed conflict, state and non-state governance, and civilian strategies in response to crises. Regionally, her work is grounded in the North Caucasus region of Russia, where she relies on interviews, oral histories, original survey data collection, and analysis of local newspapers.

Klyachkina holds a PhD from Northwestern University.
