Lorrie Frasure-Yokley is an associate professor of political science at the University of California, Los Angeles, where in 2015 she became the first woman of color to earn tenure and promotion in the school’s political science department. Her research interests include racial and ethnic political behavior, immigrant political incorporation, African American politics, women and politics, and state and local politics. Her book, Racial and Ethnic Politics in American Suburbs (Cambridge University Press, 2015), won two national book awards in 2016 from the American Political Science Association. She is the co-principal investigator of the Collaborative Multiracial Post-Election Survey 2008 and 2012, the first multi-racial, multi-ethnic, and multi-lingual post-election study of racial and political preferences and behavior among registered voters in the US.
