Fakhry is a PhD candidate in political science at Cairo University, where she earned a master’s degree in political science.
Her research interests include China’s involvement and policies toward Africa and the Middle East with a focus on Chinese official development assistance (ODA) in the region; changes in the Chinese political system and society; the Belt and Road Initiative; and Egypt’s Islamic-secular dilemma after the 25 January Revolution.
