Luis Schenoni is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Konstanz University and Affiliated Professor at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE), Mexico. A former Kellogg doctoral student affiliate, Luis works on state building and international conflict, with a focus on Latin America. His research has been published in the American Journal of Political Science, International Studies Quarterly, Security Studies, and Democratization, among other journals.
I am interested in how the international security environment shaped the prospects of state formation and democratization, primarily in Latin America.
State Formation in Latin America and Foreign Policy in Latin America. In my dissertation I study the effect of 19th century wars on the state capacity of Latin American states in our days.
