The Kellogg Institute offers our faculty fellows grants to support research, research-related conference travel, academic conferences & workshops, working groups, publications, policy and practice labs, and cultural events. The Institute also hosts lectures and panels where grants are not needed; in such cases, faculty fellows should use the Kellogg Event Proposal Form.

In an effort to promote the principles of value-driven research, the Kellogg Institute encourages faculty to submit proposals that align with its mission to promote research excellence. To facilitate effective evaluation, applicants are advised to ensure that their proposals adhere to the following guidelines:
By incorporating these guidelines, the Kellogg Institute aims to enhance the quality and alignment of research proposals.
Funding for individual and collaborative summer and academic-year research.
Funding to travel to a scholarly conference or workshop for which other Notre Dame funding is not available or sufficient.
Funding to organize research conferences and workshops.
Funding for activities that advance scholarship in a particular area of focus and promote intellectual collaboration and innovation in a group format.
This grant is dedicated to supporting multi-year initiatives (academic events, conferences, etc.) that address critical issues on democracy and human development by fostering collaboration across various campus units and diverse academic fields.
The Publication Grant provides support for Kellogg faculty fellows seeking assistance with publishing their findings. Priority will be given to those who have previously conducted research with Kellogg funding. This grant aims to offset the costs of publication expenses to promote scholarly impact.
The Institute offers Kellogg faculty fellows funding to to organize extracurricular events such as art exhibitions or film series related to Kellogg research themes.
Funding for "Policy and Practice Research Labs" support high-impact, high-yield research intended to have a tangible influence on policies and practices affecting democracy and human development. . (Please note that these grants have a different submission process and deadline.)
The Kellogg Institute seeks proposals from faculty fellows interested in working with a postdoctoral researcher to conduct research on a project dedicated to the study of global democracy.
The Legacy Project Grants aim to support Notre Dame faculty, researchers and graduate students with grants of up to $2,500, that use, and intend to maximize, the transmedia files of the Colombian Truth Commission towards peace, conflict, and democracy research at the University of Notre Dame.
Notre Dame Global encourages and supports international faculty initiatives through grant funding, partnership in hosting conferences and events, and research support.
