Former Faculty Fellow George Lopez (political science and peace studies) was quoted in a new article by the Associated Press about the Trump administration's efforts to eliminate the presence of North Korean workers anywhere in the supply chain of American businesses. This move comes with raised awareness of the forced labor practices used by the North Korean government, which allow these workers to be paid a fraction of their salaries. Lopez says, "The crackdown on wages is the one of the final and deepest-dive measures to cut off all foreign cash and finances coming into the DPRK."
