Faculty Fellow Dianne Pinderhughes was mentioned in the Washington Post's article "'The Moment We're In': United as Baseball Champions, Boston Red Sox are Divided by Trump" on the racial split among 2018 Boston Red Sox championship team members in their decision to visit  - or not visit - the White House.

"It is hard to miss the symbolim that the teamsplit apart after WEdnesday night's game and players took different flights gome to Boston, said Dianne Pinderhuges, a professor of political science and Africana studies at the University of Notre Dame, who focuses on race, gender, and politics. "it's an unintended consequence in the way in which the team is dividing,' she said. 'It leads to sensitive outcomes."
