Bleck

Kellogg Institute Faculty Fellow Jaimie Bleck (political science) talks with Malian musicians during a panel discussion last month on the role music has played in their lives during the instability that has plagued the country since 2012.

“Music, Peace, and Governance in the Sahel: A Conversation with Malian Musicians” explored the ongoing conflict in Mali through the lens of some of those most affected – musicians from the North of Mali. Panelists discussed the impact of the crisis in their own lives, the musical economy in Mali, and their own efforts to quell insecurity and re-establish peace through music.
