Kellogg Faculty Fellow Susan Blum wrote an opinion piece in Inside Higher Ed, “In Defense of the Morality of Citation,” which outlines the intricacies of the morality of plagiarism and the future of plagiarism in academia. 

“But idealistically, in the realm of academic writing and citation, I’d like to urge a reconsideration of the spirit of the law, or more precisely, the norms, which stem from recognition of the precious labor of fellows,” she contributes.
