In a Washington Post Monkey Cage blog post, former Kellogg Doctoral Affiliates Juan Albarracín (PhD Fellow and Dissertation Year Fellow, political science) and Laura Gamboa (PhD Fellow and Dissertation Year Fellow, political science) write about the recent waves of protests in Colombia. They explain the complicated background behind the protests, analyze the current situation, and look at prospects for the future in Colombian leadership.

Albarracín is an assistant professor of political science at the Universidad Icesi in Cali, Colombia and is a policy practitioner with the Notre Dame Violence and Transitional Justice Lab (V-TJLab) at the Kellogg Institute. Gamboa is an assistant professor of political science at Utah State University whose research focuses on institutions, regimes, and regime change in Latin America.
