Zhemin Huang earned both a BA and an MA degree in sociology from Renmin University of China. In 2023, she embarked on her journey in the sociology graduate program at Notre Dame. Her academic pursuits predominantly revolve around Cultural Sociology and Political Sociology. Her recent research project explored the civic actions of an art NGO aimed at promoting artistic diversity against a backdrop of censorship. Currently, she is investigating the formation and evolution of the in-depth reporting genre within Chinese journalism spanning from the 1980s to the mid-2010s, a period marked by significant political, economic, and cultural transformations in Chinese society.
