This is one of seven lectures in the series "Rereading Gabriela Mistral 100 years after Desolación (1922-2022): A Transhemispheric Encounter," which explores the poetry of Nobel Laureate Chilean Gabriela Mistral (1889-1957) amid the political, social, and economic crises of the new millennium. In this talk, Cabello-Hutt will answer the following questions: How is gender dissidence inscribed in Gabriela Mistral's body, performance, and discourse? How is this dissidence represented today, in the context of social outburst and sexual dissidence activisms? Where do we look for these dissidences and what do we expect from Mistral?
