Preservation of Human Rights and the Roles of the State and the International Community in Mali: Weaknesses Synergies and Prospects For Development

2021-2022

Project Abstract

The human rights situation remains critical in Mali. Its complexity, due to its negative evolution despite the multiple supports of the international community, underlines the importance of examining the role of the state, but also external support organizations, in assuring the respect for human rights in fragile and conflict affected states. It also raises the question of the place of human rights in the mandate of external interventions aimed at stability and development. The objective of the study is to investigate the above issues by targeting human rights (political and economic) in Mali in order to understand the circumstances that lead to  their violations on the one hand, and to highlight the factors and synergies contribute to their preservation on the other.
