Héctor Melo Ruiz, ABD, from Colombia. He has an M.A in Literature from the Universidad de los Andes, Colombia (2011) and a B.A, in Literature from Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, Colombia (2009). Héctor research interests include Twentieth-century Latin American Literature and Cinema; Riots, Revolts and Violence; Critical Race and Ethnic Studies. His dissertation analyses the representations of riots occurred in Latin America over the Twentieth-century. He focuses on how these urban disorders have challenged the Lettered City. Héctor has published in A contracorriente, the Vanderbilt e-Journal of Luso-Hispanic Studies and Revista de Estudios Hispánicos.
