Former Kellogg Dissertation Year Fellow Ozlem Kayhan Pusane (PhD ‘09) was recently awarded a TUBITAK grant with her colleague Erol Ulker for their research project “The Role of Defense Industry Firms in the Transformation of Turkey’s Military Sea Power and Grand Strategy.”
TUBITAK is a grant provided by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey which aims to develop science, technology, and innovation in the country.
In addition to her Kellogg Dissertation Year Fellowship, as a doctoral student Pusane received a Kellogg Graduate Research Grant for her project “How National Security Threats Affect Civil Military Relations.”
Pusane now works at Isik University in Turkey where she was recently promoted to a full professor. Her research interests are focused on traditional and critical security studies, civil-military relations, counterinsurgency, counterterrorism, and foreign policy analysis.
