Jake Harris is working with Professor Aidan Seale-Feldman, a medical anthropologist specializing in studying disaster, mental health, and mass hysteria. Professor Seale-Feldman and Harris are collaborating on a project focused on user/survivor movements and disability studies within the field of global mental health. Harris is also assisting with copy editing related to a forthcoming book manuscript and interview analysis and data organization in other active research projects. Harris is also completing a senior thesis on the American mental health crisis, based off fieldwork in a crisis mental health center. During the summer of 2023, Harris traveled to Rabat, Morocco through the Kellogg Experiencing the World Fellowship, conducting exploratory fieldwork on palliative care and opioid use among vulnerable populations in the country. Together with Professor Seale-Feldman, Harris also organizes the Critical Mental Health Working Group, an initiative to generate interdisciplinary collaboration and exploration on matters of health.
