Meredith Wilson is currently writing a thesis, advised by her former ISP adviser Dr. Laura Miller-Graff, on sexual violence as a wartime tactic of intimidation. This project, which will consider how the international community’s discourse about wartime sexual violence impacts its on-the-ground incidence, will also explore how the strategic peacebuilding paradigm might be employed to promote gender-based healing after violent conflict. The project will have an interdisciplinary lens, combining insights from anthropology and peace studies.

Wilson is also a New York State Truman Scholarship finalist, a recognition she received for her work in campus sexual violence prevention efforts and her future plans to pursue public service in the violence prevention realm. Additionally, in the summer of 2022, she was a member of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research’s inaugural #SheLeads4Peace cohort. Through this program, she traveled to Geneva and participated in an intensive 2-week leadership training for women interested in peacebuilding fields.
