Faculty Fellow Ernest Morrell has published his edited book, "Stories from Inequity to Justice in Literacy Education: Confronting Digital Divides", co-edited with Jennifer Rowsell.
The publisher, Routledge: Taylor and Francis group, comments that "This book explores the real and potential limitations placed on young people’s literacy education by their limited access to technology and digital resources...(it) identifies social, economic, racial, political and geographical factors which can limit populations’ access to technology, and outlines the negative impact this can have on literacy attainment."
Morrell is the Coyle Professor of Literacy Education and director of the Center for Literacy Education in the Institute for Educational Initiatives, and holds joint appointments in the Department of English and the Department of Africana Studies.
