Karan Chopra is executive vice president and co-founder of Opportunity@Work, a civic enterprise working to transform the US labor market to enable more people to achieve upward mobility in the job market and workplace. It also aims to facilitate collective investment by employers to develop talent and scale up promising innovations that can lead to higher-value, meaningful work. 

Chopra co-founded and previously served as director of Global Agri-Development Company (GADCO), a vertically-integrated agri-food business engaged in the production, processing, and marketing of basic food products in sub-Saharan Africa backed by global investors and institutions. He co-led the company as it developed and operated the largest rice plant in Ghana, developed a processing center, and launched a packaged food brand that contributed to domestic food security in the country. He also co-founded West Africa Vocational Education (WAVE), a social venture addressing youth unemployment in Nigeria and backed by leading venture philanthropy groups. He previously worked at McKinsey & Company, where he was awarded the social sector fellowship, and as a software developer with Siemens. 

He was named in the 2014 list of Forbes 30 under 30 Social Entrepreneurs by Forbes magazine and was selected as a New Voices Fellow at the Aspen Institute. 

Chopra earned a BS from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar.
