The research of former visiting fellow Sandra Ley Gutiérrez and faculty fellow Guillermo Trejo (political science) is featured in an article on the increasing violence towards Mexico's local politicians during the electoral cycle (CityLab). Their 2015 study had identified two criteria in identifying municipalities where violence against politicians was most likely to occur.
