Public Opinion and Elections—New
Working Group Grant
Focus of proposed working group: Democracy in Latin America has progressed beyond its initial transitional period. Although democracy is not equally strong in every corner of the region, the unique politics of transitions has given way to the more regularized patterns of electoral politics. At the same time, the field of comparative politics has recently witnessed a surge of interest in studies of public opinion and political behavior in Latin America. Accordingly, this working group will focus on the emerging field of public opinion and elections in Latin America.
