Luigino Bruni, professor of economics at Libera Università Maria Ss. Assunta (LUMSA) in Rome, Italy, investigates the historical and philosophical foundations of economic thought, with a focus on the interpersonal dimension. With others, he rediscovered the Italian tradition of civil economy and cofounded the Scuola di Economia Civile (School of Civil Economy), to reenvision economic exchange through sociality, relational goods, and the common good. A contributor to the 2015 World Happiness Report, he holds a PhD in economics from the University of East Anglia and a doctorate in the history of economic thought from the University of Florence.
