Faculty Fellow Guillermo Trejo's (political science) work on political corruption and violence in Mexico, in particular his efforts with the Truth and Memory Group, was referenced in an article in In These Times magazine. Among other insights he lent for the article, Trejo asserted that a national truth commission, rather than the regional commissions proposed by the president-elect of Mexico, would be a more effective way to address the multitude of human rights violations, including "disappearances" of citizens and extrajudicial killings, that have plagued the country in recent decades.
