Faculty Fellow Clemens Sedmak (social ethics) was quoted in a Catholic News Service article on Crux and elsewhere titled, “Jesuit Presents Book on how Religion and Ethics can Shape Refugee Response.” The article discusses how even though most of the world has seemed to lose a sense of common humanity, faith-based organizations have stepped up in the refugee crisis.
With regard to COVID-19 amplifying the refugee crisis, Sedmak observes a new nationalism and a sense of individualism over the common good. He asks, “how do we endure solidarity in crisis?”
