Former Visiting Fellow Thea Riofrancos is the author of a new book, Resource Radicals: From Petro-Nationalism to Post-Extractivism in Ecuador (Duke University Press, 2020). In it, she examines how the leftist government that came to power in 2007 and a coalition of grassroots activists battled over the extraction of natural resources.

In the book’s acknowledgements, Riofrancos thanks the Kellogg Institute and several former visiting fellows and faculty for providing feedback while she revised her dissertation into a book.
