Faculty Fellow Katie Jarvis recently published her new book, "Politics in the Marketplace: Work, Gender and Citizenship in Revolutionary France."

The book presents the feminine trajectory through The French Revolution, reexamining work, gender and citizenship in the process of a modern democracy. She argues that that "Dames of Halle" shaped the nature of burgeoning democracy and capitalism, while men were the main focus.
