Faculty Fellow Michael Desch (political science) discussed his relationship with former President George H.W. Bush in a recent WNDU article. Desch shared some of his interactions with the former president while working at the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
He spoke highly of Bush's character and public service work, while noting how the political climate has changed since his presidential era. Desch said, "We're living at a time when the domestic and international climate facing our country is changing very dramatically, and we're living in a world in which the customs and mores of people like Mr. and Mrs. Bush are becoming increasingly a thing of the past."
