Faculty Fellow Emeritus Father Gustavo Gutiérrez, OP received the award of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universidad Ricardo Palma due to his work with the poor based on the theory of Liberation Theology. The Peruvian Catholic Church claims him while they praise his work which they believe can be a key to democracy in the country.
