Former Visiting Fellow Gema Kloppe-Santamaría (2017-18) has received an honorable mention for the María Elena Martínez Book Prize in Mexican History for her book In the Vortex of Violence. Kloppe-Santamaría was presented the award by the Conference on Latin American History affiliated with the American Historical Association.
