Faculty Fellow Debra Javeline was a guest on an episode of the podcast The Middle asking how climate change affects communities and what elected officials should be doing about it. Javeline believes that America needs to have a national conversation about where it is safe for people to live in America. When challenged on this opinion, she agreed that “climate change poses risks everywhere. It’s a global phenomenon.” However, she stated that there are relatively safer places to live that have less severe devastation from natural disasters.
