Former Faculty Fellow Catalina Romero (Spring ’93, Fall ’01), professor of sociology and doctoral program coordinator at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, recently completely her term as dean of social sciences. She received a 2011–12 Latin American and Caribbean Guggenheim Fellowship for the project “Diversity within Catholicism and its Democratizing Effect in Latin America: The Peruvian Case.”  She was also elected to the executive committee of the Latin American Studies Association (2012–14).
