Faculty Fellow Tamara Kay, Associate Professor of Global Affairs in the Keough School of Global Affairs and the Department of Sociology, was quoted in a Sinclair Broadcasting/WSBT story about federal aid to US farmers amid escalating trade disputes with China. Saying that there are "always trade winners and losers," she looked toward the larger future repercussions: "Longer-term damage is that the Chinese will look to other markets... Right now, China is a hige market for U.S. farmers, so even after the dispute is resolved it could have an effect."
