Faculty Fellow Michael Coppedge and former Visiting Fellow John Gerring are among the coauthors of the new book Varieties of Democracy: Measuring Two Centuries of Political Change (Cambridge University Press, 2020). Other members of the Kellogg community who contributed to the book are David Altman, a former visiting fellow, former guest scholar, and former dissertation year fellow; and Fernando Bizzarro Neto, a former guest scholar and former PhD fellow. Other coauthors are Adam Glynn, Carl Henrik Knutsen, Staffan I. Lindberg, Daniel Pemstein, Brigitte Seim, Svend-Erik Skaaning, and Jan Teorell. The book is a guide to the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) project, an international effort to produce data related to democracy for all countries since 1900.
