After Biden condemned Russia in his speech at the United Nations, Faculty Fellow Michael Desch questioned Biden’s actions. By focusing on the debate between autocracy and democracy, pressing global issues such as climate change and food security were neglected. Desch explained that although, “we may have the Europeans and other Western allies with us on this… much of the world is trying to tell us that there are other problems that the continuing war in Ukraine is sucking the air from.”
