Kellogg Faculty Fellow Richard Clark recently authored an opinion piece in Devex, arguing that the Trump administration’s escalating assault on scientific infrastructure endangers global development and cooperation.

Since resuming office, the Trump administration has taken aggressive steps to minimize the role of science in the federal government, The dismantling of agencies, cutting of funding for research, and mass layoffs of scientists have raised the risk of public health crises, increased the threat of environmental degradation, and may slow the pace of technological innovation, says Clark. Domestically Trump’s efforts to root out the alleged corruption and government excess could decimate scientific research and innovation.
