Colombia’s currently unfolding peace process represents the first state attempt to end a war under the shadow of two international courts, the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACtHR). This study explores the effect of the overlapping jurisdiction of these two courts on how Colombia contends with its ongoing internal conflict, as well as its effects on the two courts’ authority. How does the double-judicialization of the politics of peace re-shape how peace is made? Where courts from different international regimes interact with the same domestic actors over the same matters, is their authority fortified or undermined?
