Jaroslav (Jarda) Bílek is a research fellow at the Department of Politics, University of Hradec Králové and a Fulbright-Masaryk Fellow. His research interests include hybrid regimes, authoritarian backsliding, electoral manipulation, civil-military relations, and vaccine diplomacy. 

Bílek’s research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Political Studies Review, Czech Journal of Political Science, and Czech Sociological Review. He has worked as a research fellow at Palacký University and cooperated with various NGOs in the Czech Republic and Central Europe.

Bílek earned an MA at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and a PhD at the University of Hradec Králové, where he was a post-doctoral fellow.
