Hugo Pérez Hernáiz (Ph.D., Deusto, 2016) currently lives in León, Spain and is a Venezuelan sociologist and translator. He has taught at the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV) and the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello and remains on faculty at the UCV while riding out Venezuela's crisis in Spain. He received his doctorate in social sciences from the Universidad de Deusto. Among his publications are “As teorias da conspiração e o problema do mal: o 11 de setembro de 2001” in Locus: Revista De História (2021) and, with David Smilde, Postsecularismo y la religión vivida: aportes desde la sociología cualitativa norteamericana (Universidad Católica Andrés Bello 2021).
