Día de los Muertos event and exhibition: Counter‐Archives to the Narco-City
Projects in the Arts Grant
“Counter-Archives to the Narco-City” is a project on art and human rights curated by Tatiana Reinoza and Luis Vargas-Santiago that offers alternative views to the media spectacle of narcoviolence in the Americas. Concurrent exhibitions by artists Adriana Corral and Alma Levia, as well as events surrounding these exhibitions, will take place at the Crossroads Gallery of the Notre Dame Center for Arts and Culture and at Notre Dame’s Snite Museum of Art. The exhibitions focus on “narco-cities” in Latin America and in the United States and the victims of the narcotics trade, especially women and children, as well as highlighting the injustices present in communities where the narcotics trade proliferates.
