Interreligious Dialogue in Latin America and Scriptural Reasoning
Graduate Research Grant
This project aims to respond to the theoretical and practical requirements of Scriptural Reasoning among Latin Americans, especially with Chileans. Thus, this work includes a theoretical section devoted to the examination of Latin American theologies with a special interest in their responses to the diversity of religions. Here I also explore Indigenous theology as a particularity of the region to be taken into consideration as an integral part of an interfaith dialogue proposal. Considering that Scriptural Reasoning is a practice of interfaith dialogue, this project includes the application of the method in Chile which is crucial to evaluate the reception of the method among Chileans. Indeed, the performance of Scriptural Reasoning in Chile will be a significant example for other Latin American countries where the method could potentially be replicated in the future.
