About

Zeina Rady is a sophomore at the University of Notre Dame double majoring in Neuroscience & Behavior (BA) and Philosophy, and a recipient of the Hesburgh-Yusko Merit Scholarship.

She’s passionate about learning, teaching, and education as a tool for social transformation. She’s working as a research assistant for the Pulte Institute where she gets involved in projects under the Supporting Holistic and Actionable Research in Education (SHARE) initiative for the global education community. During the summer of 2021, Rady participated in the ALforEducation apprenticeship program and studied a course about school theory and effectiveness. As an apprentice, she then collaborated with the Committee of Safety and Justice in the African Leadership Academy (ALA) and conducted a research project that aimed at enhancing a culture of consent and safety on campus.

Rady is also highly passionate about feminism and women’s liberation from the patriarchy. In her senior year of high school, she pursued a year-long humanities research project about the history of feminist movements in Egypt and their intersection with modernism, colonialism, Islamism, and the state. She’d love to participate in any research project concerning women’s social, political, or physical well-being.

Rady aspires to be an interdisciplinary academic researcher and a professor in the future, and she strives to develop the necessary skills through constant learning.
