Xinyi (Emily) Cao ‘26

Xinyi Cao is an undergraduate student at the University of Notre Dame pursuing a double major in economics and applied and computational mathematics and statistics (ACMS) with a minor in asian studies. Her research interests lie at the intersection of education, economics, and technology, with a focus on promoting self-development to combat social inequality. Xinyi's work spans from analyzing the impact of poverty in rural China to conducting tech-based research that supports small businesses. Through her experiences, she has developed a strong passion for exploring how technological solutions and cultural understanding can empower individuals and communities, particularly in addressing disparities in education and economic opportunities. She is committed to continuing her research in the U.S., aiming to explore new ways to foster public awareness and self-development as tools for social change.
