William Ek is a junior from Saint Paul, Minnesota, studying Theology and Political Science. As a Kellogg International Scholar, he will continue to assist Dr. Clemens Sedmak in a project examining Pope Francis and Pope Leo XIV's views on the role of Catholic universities in the world. Ek will also assist with additional projects on Catholic moral teachings in contemporary contexts.
Ek spent the past two summers completing education fellowships abroad through Notre Dame's Institute for Social Concerns. He is interested in Catholic education, the role of the Church in the world, and the relationship between Catholicism and democracy.
