About

Tereza Nyirabwiza is a junior studying political science and minoring in business economics at the University of Notre Dame. Nyirabwiza is interested in research that correlates with improving issues in underdeveloped countries - especially Latin American and African countries - for minorities and low-income families. The main focus she would like to study is the lack of education that underdeveloped countries face, and how that affects the progression of these countries. During the global pandemic, Nyirabwiza took the initiative to research how the global pandemic was affecting Uganda; many faced hardships especially because the education system worsened with classes being online. She then fundraised to help students with basic needs, school supplies, and hygiene products while home, motivating them to continue their studies. She hopes to continue to take this route, but focus more on the quantitative side of research.
