Sophia Almeida is a sophomore from Monmouth Beach, New Jersey, studying Global Affairs and Spanish. In the fall, she participated in an immersive service trip in West Virginia, where she conducted research on the restriction of human rights in the Appalachian region. As a part of the Kellogg Developing Researchers Program, Sophia is eager to continue developing her research skills, particularly in areas concerning human rights and education. Her goal is to contribute to meaningful work that supports disadvantaged youth communities. Outside of her academic pursuits, Sophia enjoys volunteering at St. Adalberts, a local grammar school, where she tutors and mentors elementary school children.
