Sofia Buck is a sophomore from metro Detroit, Michigan, studying Global Affairs and French. As a Kellogg International Scholar, she conducts research with Professor Zoltán Búzás, focusing on Sino-American relations through a human rights lens, particularly examining media portrayals and racial discrimination. This past summer, Sofia participated in the Nanovic Institute’s Serving (in) Europe program, completing a service internship in Lublin, Poland. On campus, she works as a student assistant at the Nanovic Institute, is active in NDVotes, serves as a McInerney Fellow, and supports college access efforts through Notre Dame’s Matriculate chapter. She is also an Ethics Research Fellow with the Institute for Ethics and the Common Good, where she explores the intersection of ethics and international human rights law.
