About

Prakriti Shakya is a research associate at the Ford Program in Human Development Studies and Solidarity. Her research interests include early childhood development, family dynamics, environment, food insecurity, and poverty alleviation, and she has completed fieldwork in Uganda and Nepal. 

Prior to coming to the US, Shakya worked in research and communications with Frost and Sullivan South Asia, Daayitwa, UNICEF ROSA, and Rahat in Nepal.  

She holds an MS in international and development economics from the University of San Francisco, where her master’s thesis was on the topic, "Impact of Temperature on Children’s Nutrition in Nepal."
