My name is Krystin Krause and I am a graduate student in political science. I have a BA in Spanish and found my way to political science by way of an MA in Latin American studies.
Originally from Massachusetts, I have also lived in Tennessee, New Hampshire, Louisiana, Argentina, Guatemala, El Salvador and Brazil. I am currently working on my dissertation, which discusses the politics of crime control in Latin America, focusing specifically on the relationship between news media images of crime, public opinion and political rhetoric. When I am not working furiously on my dissertation in the library or at my apartment South Bend, or conducting fieldwork in Latin America, you can find me at a local barn taking riding lessons or in the gym practicing Poekoelan Tjimindie Tulen, a rare form of Indonesian martial arts.
